Meet Barbara Pearson-Sawyer

Barbara is a California girl transplanted to the beautiful mountains of Colorado. She is the oldest in a family of 13 children and spent her childhood in the entertainment business working with such entertainers as Jimmy Durante, Sonny and Cher, Bob Hope and Phyllis Diller to name a few. She spent 18 years in the travel agency business, owning her own company, which also afforded her many opportunities to travel to over 26 countries around the world.

Because of her love of the mountains, skiing and hiking, she and her son Jason moved to Colorado in 1996. In Summit County, she entered the real estate business in Breckenridge and later she worked for Intrawest and Vail Resorts in the real estate development of the Keystone resort ski area.

She moved to Salida in 2003 for the small town community in the mountains. She entered the real estate business here and finds it to be a pleasure to represent this small town by helping young people into their first homes and anyone interested in investing their future into this exceptional river valley which has so much to offer to the young and young at heart.

She is a professional and stresses the importance of continuing real estate education within the industry. She has served on the MLS committee for the local board. She was the Sales Associate of the Year at First Colorado Land Office for 2008. She holds a GRI designation and employing broker status. Her motto is “Exceeding Your Expectations” and she takes that seriously.

Barbara is Past President of the Mt Shavano Kiwanis Club who sponsor programs for children and family events throughout the year. Barbara is passionate about serving the children of this community.

When she is not working, you will find her spending time with her family which now includes two grandsons and you will find her with her husband Wayne in the mountains hiking, climbing a 14er, snowshoeing or skiing off the top of a mountain.
